Nissan Introduces All-New, Zero-Compromise Hybrid System

Nissan is ushering in a new era of hybrid technology - one in which drivers needn't sacrifice giddyup for extra fuel economy. Are you ready? We hope so. Because Nissan is planning to officially launch their late-breaking hybrid system in North America, starting in 2013. That's just over a year away. As you can tell, Weston Nissan of Ft Lauderdale is beside ourselves with anticipation. And, once you read the details, we're certain you will be too.
Nissan developed the revolutionary, new hybrid system in house. The official unveiling of the technology on November 29, revealed that it's specially designed not only with a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder powerplant and li-ion battery pack, but a twin-screw supercharger. Translated into everyday driver speak, the new Nissan hybrid system can put out 260 hp and 250 lb.-ft. of torque.
If you're thinking that's not much different from the Japanese automaker's larger 3.5-liter V6, you're right. While the hybrid system delivers up to 10-percent greater fuel economy when mated to Nissan's new CVT; it offers equal power.
Nissan projects that their entire lineup will adopt the hybrid system in the near future. However, they have not yet officially commented on which vehicle, the JUKE, Quest, Pathfinder, Maxima...will adopt the system first. Many bets lay on the Nissan Altima. Which model do you think will get the system first?
Stay tuned to learn more about Nissan's all-new, no-compromise hybrid system. Weston Nissan promises to keep you up to date on all developments. We're also happy to say that with Nissan you don't have to have a hybrid or LEAF EV to enjoy competitive power and fuel economy.
